See a one minute clip of an original bar like this on my site. The bar is about 3 blocks from where the bar in the movie was originally filmed. This is one of my favorite movies. All the buildings have been destroyed due to the West End Development of the late 1970's. She is one of those performers that you can't take your eyes off her. I have always remembered and been haunted by this character she played in Fat City. i gave her a ride home (she went by SzuSzu) from an event for a friend of mine. She invited me in for guava juice (weirdly specific) and showed me her ex-husband's paintings. it's 3am, there's no one there yet she whispers, "People say he was a genius.
