New York police are bemused by a spate of reports of a giant flying lizard that has been spotted around the rooftops of New York, which they assume to be bogus until the lizard starts to eat people. An out-of-work, ex-con piano player is the only person who knows the location of the monster's nest and is determined to turn the knowledge to his advantage, but will his gamble pay off or will he end up as lizard food?

I saw this film on Halloween as a marathon of monster movies back in 95 on TV there was Q alligator and old godzilla. I had come home from a party and my mum and older brother were sitting in the living room. I was tripping my nut off on 3 purple ohms. I was 17 and I remember trying 2 hold it 2gether in front of my family watching these films while the world melted around me.... ahh 2 b young again..... youth is wasted on the young. As it should b. OK, from looking back on this movie, there only one element of it that I do like: the use of stop-motion animation to bring the cleverly-designed creature to life. I also like how it harkens back to the 'Monster on a Rampage' movies of the 50s with it's plot & pacing. But the fact that there's not great acting (with the exception of Michael Moriarty) and the characters acting like they've seen the monster already since the beginning kind of drags it down.
