I still think that this film is more thriller than horror. I don't get why Brittany Murphy dropped out after spending weeks filming the movie. My cousin was friends with her at one point and she said that Brittany had issues with horror films. Great movie! Riveting and intense. Apparently Brittany Murphy, who was originally set to star in this film left shortly after filming began when she found out that it was a horror film. Apparently, she had an aversion to horror films and felt that they tend to typecast actresses, in particular. However, her last films were bordering on horror to some extent. I believe that she filmed a substantial amount of footage and her departure caused financial constrains as they had to extend the filming schedule in order to reshoot the scenes with Rachelle. I also think that it caused difficulties for Stephen Moyer, who was on a tight schedule so they had to cut some of his scenes and hence, explains why he isn't in the film as much. I don't get why she waited until after filming began to drop out. Surely, she knew what she was getting into. It would have been interesting to see her in this role and I'm kind of sad that she missed out on the part because it would have been great to see her perform all those stunts. In any case, Rachelle LeFevre was a good replacement. She really carried the film well!
