Average movie at best. At first, the film started out good but then it mostly got worst at the second half of the film. Also, Orlando Jones, Jeremy Irons and Guy Pearce were the only actors that were carrying the weight of this film. If you took these actors out of the film, then this film would absolutely be garbage. Also, this film has little to do with the book by HG Wells. in fact, the original time machine film was closer to the book. This film would have been amazing if they didnt include those man-eating monster bullshit. It impossible for the hum species to evolve into a completely different species in a mere 800,000 years. I also disliked the language they were using. They repeated the same one word in nearly every dialogue, it was very cringy. I was gana rate this a 7/10 but after he made that 800,00 yr jump, it went to 1/10. I reread the book just before this came out....it's great how the book is a sci-fi story but also a reflection on class differences and a jab at then-current ideas that things would only get better, by depicting a future where man degenerates and things fall apart. This movie throws out the original book's depth and message and instead just delivers schlock. H. G. Wells was a social and political radical whose work commented on social issues and ills of his time, like "War of the Worlds" commenting on colonialism and the complacency of the British people. People try to excuse the movie by saying it was directed by Wells' grandson...but I say, he spat on his grandfather's grave. And anyone saying this is a great adaptation of the book, obviously hasn't read the book or understood the points it was trying to make. - @Wednesday, April 18, 2018 6:47 PM

Spoiler : The movie was really great but the ending was really bad . there is 2 explanation : First one : Alex travels even further into the future and sees the current society in ruins, and then goes back to where he was and changes it which makes no since since he can't change the past and if so then he could just have to get back and save his girl. but seems if he done that "Alex couldn't change the past because it would've caused a paradox - If Emma hadn't been killed, he never would have built the time machine, which means he wouldn't have been able to go back to save her which means she would have died, which means he would have built the time machine... etc etc etc" 2nd explanation : when he traveled to the future and sees the society and ruins he knew that his action didn't change anything so he just went back and save the 2nd girl and stayed their which doesn't make since since he can just accept the reality and get back to his own timeline. some of the above explanation token from "Thwark" http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46692 - @Saturday, December 9, 2017 11:30 PM
